Mah Jongg is a Chinese entertainment played with 144 covers — miniature rectangular blocks of wood or ivory with a face showing an assortment of dispositions and designs.
There are 108 suit covers (bamboo, circles, and spirits), 28 honor designations (winds and dragons), and 8 flower strips.
The pastime is recognized under a big number of alternating names, counting Mah Jong, Ma Chiao, Mo Tsiah, Ma Chiang, Ma Cheuk, Ma Jong, Man Chu, Mah Diao, Ma Chong, Mah Chong, Pung Chow, Ching Chong, Kong Chow, Mah Deuck, Mah Cheuk, Ma Chiang, Pe Ling, Lung Chan, Mah Lowe, Baak Ling, Taipai, and further.
The match is played in two principal techniques: conventional and solitaire.
The conventional competition is played with four-players, at the same time as the solitaire diversion is played with one, and consists completely of corresponding strips from a variety of outlines.
